What college dorm storage must haves do you think my freshman daughter needs?
We’re looking at bins and baskets, hanging storage, shoe racks, over-the-door things – - – all of this stuff will just CLUTTER her room! What things work best? What things don’t? What can we do without? What do we need?

One thing i used alot in college and still use the same one today was a three drawer plastic storage thing its about two and a half feet high and i kept all of my toiletries in it along with medication and band aids and stuff. The larger bins are great for hold those things and I still keep it in my guest room now that Im out for when I need something like that when i run out. Keep in mind also that anything that can double as a table or serve a multiple purpose are great for dorm rooms.

It helps if you know the layout of the room – some have big closets, some have none. So wait until you know what the room can accommodate before you go out and buy a bunch of stuff. If it has room to store things under the bed, large containers that slide under the bed are great. Again, wait until you know what the room looks like, because if it’s a bed with little or no room underneath, it will be useless.
