HELP! How can I organize my wardrobe with closet & drawer space?
Just got back from vacation and realized I need to organize all my clothes/bags/shoes/accessories/jewelry/shoes, etc…I have those standard closets that have 2 doors that go from left to right w a shelft above. I usually put dresses, coats, skirts, sweaters, and some cotton shirts, I’m running out of room. Inside the closet on the floor are my other sweatshirts, sweatpants. On the top shelf, i only have about 6 boxes of shoes (only heels/stilletos; sneakers and sandals are downstairs in the garage), beach mat, beach bags. I have 9 drawers – section for handbags, 1 for jeans/pants/shorts/skirts/ 1 for tanks, camis, tees, 1 for swimsuit, swimwear, more tanks and tees, 1 for workout clothes and sweats, 1 for hats, and accessories, 1 for underwear/bra/spanx, 1 for tops – house clothes and the last one for bottoms -house clothes.
Solution to a 'messy closet'??
So I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with VERY limited storage space and no storage locker etc. there are 2 closets in the master bedroom, these are filled with our clothing, shoes, extra bedding etc. in other words it is packed! in our spare room/office/junk collection space, the closet is literally packed to the ceiling. My husband is in the military, and anyone who knows the lifestyle understands the amount of stuff this includes. there are at least 7 huge rubermaid containers full of Army Kit piled in there. the problem is that although it all fits in there, it’s just too wide to close the doors. I am looking for almost any solution to make that area look pretty… I was thinking of maybe some curtains, but i don’t know how to go about that… any suggestions?
hehe soooo none of the stuff can be thrown out, given away, or stored under the bed. a. because we don’t own it (it’s military property) and b. because it fills up 7 huge rubermaid containers… lots of it is too big individually to store under out bed not to mention the large containers it’s in.
Organization ideas for a bedroom with no closet?
My bedroom is the loft of my family’s house. Therefore, it’s quite large, but has no closet!! I have a tacky metal clothing rack from a drapery company (lol), but I have a lot of clothes so it’s quite covered and doesn’t look too bad. I have a lot of accessories, shoes, bags, etc. (I’m a girl, come on!), but no where to put my junk. So basically, right now the futon I have in my room beside my bed is my storage unit. Does anyone have any creative DIY storage ideas? I mean like cute boxes for magazines, something for jewellery, etc. People usually have closets, and they put big nice organizers in there, but since I’m someone who doesn’t have a handy closet, I need ideas!! Please help
Do you have any tips on organizing a small closet?
I have a two bedroom small house. My husband and I have a lot of stuff and the 2 closets are really small. Our clothes and shoes and stuff are in the closet in the bedroom. And we have our holiday decorations and other storage stuff in the other closet. However, I have more stuff I would really like to store in these closets. Any advice on how to make these small closets hold more stuff or how to store things in the extra room w/o it looking like a storage room? (i.e…I don’t want a bunch of rubbermaid boxes stacked against the wall.) FYI the second room is mainly used as an office and our dog’s crate is in there and there’s a futon in there for guests.
I’m planning to get rid of some of the stuff as well. I just need some ideas on how to go through it and organize it.
Ideas for inexpensive closet organization?
So, i’m in a super tiny apartment, with 2 big closets. They have shelves at eye level that have about 6ft of vertical space (really high ceilings), depth of about 2 feet and 3 1/2 feet width on one and more than 12 ft width on the other.
I’m looking for some way to build up and create more storage for cheap.
Any ideas? Links would be greatly appreciated.
Wife and kids are clutter freaks. Been asking for a year to clean. Can I start bagging and throwing donating?
Wife keeps a lot of clothes for "when they grow into them". By then the styles will have changed. Kids have more toys than any one person can imagine. We have 3 birthdays coming up and our house will only be filled with more stuff. They will not throw anything out or donate. It is like I am ripping their arms off (including my wife).

Is there anything I can do in this situation with my aunt?
My aunt has been staying with us for the past couple weeks. For most of the time, she was on a road trip with my dad so it wasnt so bad, but now shes back, and my mom and i are at our wits end.
she considers herself a "Professional Organizer" and all-around know it all. Every time she stays with us, she takes it upon herself to try and "organize" our lives!
